Falling Foss and Sneaton Forest

A Forestry England woodland south of Whitby with Falling Foss, a roughly 20m waterfall in a wooded gorge, and the Hermitage, an 18th-century shelter carved into a boulder. There are no waymarked trails and no easy-access route, so sturdy shoes and a carrier rather than a pushchair suit young children.
